RENEW is part of the UK Men In Sheds Association, and is a place to have fun, share or learn skills and knowledge with like-minded people and gain a renewed sense of purpose and belonging. Guests & volunteers love renewing, repairing and re-using materials which would otherwise go to landfill and currently have sessions in woodwork, upholstery and upcycling. The organisation also runs a community foodshare in partnership with Swindon Night Shelter and Penhill Community church.
Swindon Night Shelter is a Christian homeless charity working across the town. Its aim is to try to break the cycle of homelessness focusing on accommodation, employment, health and well-being, fun and fulfilment. Based in Queens Drive, the day centre, the Haven, is open from 9.30 to 4pm. The organisation also runs a temporary winter housing project at the Haven from January to March and a shop called The Hub, in Clive Parade, open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.
